A beautiful smile can be a source of confidence, helping you feel better about meeting new people or enjoying social interactions. However, for many people discoloration can lead to poor esthetics and a dull smile. We can either remove the stains with teeth whitening or mask them with dental veneers. Do you need teeth whitening or veneers?
Professional Teeth Whitening
At our office we provide patients with the KoR Deep Bleaching. Frist, we use Snap Imaging to show a patient what their smile might look like after treatment. Then we create a custom-made set of trays. After an initial office treatment, the doctor sends you home with the trays and a bleaching solution. You place the gel in the trays and wear them daily for the amount of time the doctor recommends. After a week to ten days you undergo a final office treatment. The procedure can address minor and more serious discoloration, helping you enjoy a brighter smile.
We can also mask the appearance of discoloration using a restoration. Dental veneers are designed to improve the esthetics of a smile, completely altering how a tooth looks. Made from porcelain, these thin restorations are placed on the front of the teeth. We can use them to:
- Reshape damaged or malformed teeth
- Close gaps between teeth
- Improve the appearance of minor alignment issues
- Mask teeth stains that don’t respond to traditional whitening methods
The placement process takes about two visits and the restorations are made from a lifelike and stain-resistant porcelain materials. With proper care, they can last for decades.
Which Cosmetic Option Works Best?
The one that best suites your smile will depend on a number of factors, including the cause and severity of your teeth stains. Minor discoloration often responds ell to teeth whitening. Serous discoloration, such as the kind that occurs as a result of medication or injury, may need to masked with veneers.
