Misalignment can lead to a host of problems, ranging from your appearance to your oral health. Orthodontic treatment can address uneven teeth and improve the health of your smile in the process. In some cases, you can even achieve a new smile in six months.
What is Six Month Smiles?
Traditional braces employ brackets and wires, with periodic adjustments to move the teeth into an optimal position. However, the orthodontics are prominent and very noticeable and treatment takes about 18 months to 2 years. However, Six Month Smiles also uses metal brackets and wires, but they are designed to be less noticeable and correct alignment problems in a fraction of the time for patients who qualify.
Who Qualifies for Treatment?
We usually recommend the procedure for patients over the age of 16 who have more minor alignment problems. For example, if you once wore braces but they’ve been removed and your teeth have since shifted, you may need treatment. We will employ digital x-rays and intraoral cameras to carefully examine your teeth and jaw. We can then decide if this is the best option for correcting your smile. If not, we can discuss possible alternatives, such as Invisalign clear aligners.
If you would like to see if you qualify, remember we offer free cosmetic consultations. The doctor will examine your smile and discuss your goals. From there, we can help you choose the procedure or procedures necessary to improve the beauty and health of your smile.
What are the Benefits?
There are a number of benefits to Six Month Smiles. First, the treatment uses clear brackets and tooth-colored arch wires, so the orthodontics are barely noticeable. The entire treatment period also takes between three and six months, substantially less than many other orthodontic systems.
