FAQs: Invisalign for Teens

As a teenager, you are very conscious about your appearance. Misalignment can cause you to want to hide your smile in pictures or when hanging out with new people. Braces can often correct the issue but you may feel just as self-conscious about a mouth filled with metal. Fortunately, Invisalign for teens can provide a clear alternative to traditional orthodontics.

Frequently Asked Questions About Clear Braces for Teens

Question: How do clear aligners work?

Answer: First, the dentist will need to take impressions of the teeth. A series of aligners will be created from clear plastic, custom-made for the patient. The patient then wears them for between 20 and 23 hours each day, only removing them for meals and special occasions. The teeth are then repositioned to more optimal placement.

Question: Can anyone wear them?

Answer: We recommend them for patients 16 and older who have more minor alignment problems. During the initial appointment we will look at your misalignment and decide if this is the best choice for your smile. More serious cases may benefit from traditional metal braces.

Question: What’s the difference between treating adults and teens?

Answer: Teens may require a longer treatment period. For adults, a year is typically needed to correct the smile. Teens may need up to 18 months. However, this is still shorter than traditional braces, which often need up to two years.

Question: Is there a discount on treatment?

Answer: Yes. Currently our office is providing a special on Invisalign. Patients can enjoy $500 off of the cost of treatment. We can also provide free teeth whitening and a free smile simulator. The simulator allows a person to see how their smile might look after treatment. If you have any questions about our clear aligners then please contact out office today.
